The Scheme
What Is PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana?
A Government of India scheme under which eligible residential electricity consumers installing rooftop solar may receive Central Financial Assistance towards the cost of the system.
The assistance is provided directly to the eligible consumer after the installation is completed, inspected and connected in line with the scheme's process. It is available for residential rooftop installations only.

The rooftop solar application is submitted to the DISCOM, which assesses technical feasibility for the requested capacity.

Once approved, the system is installed by a vendor registered under the applicable process, to the specified standards.

The DISCOM inspects the installation and installs a bi-directional net meter, after which a commissioning certificate is issued.
